The Hawn Foundation develops and implements evidence-based mindfulness education programs in support of teachers and their students from grades K-12. An information hub on the cutting edge of mindfulness-based learning, we collaborate with learning theorists, educators, scientists and professionals, and share our work in educational, healthcare and community-based settings.
Research has shown that mindful awareness benefits children on many levels (to find out more, click here ). When kids learn simple mindfulness-based techniques (also called attention training), they gain an understanding of their own thoughts and feelings, and the skills to respond in healthy, responsible ways. Mindfulness also helps kids learn better—improving their concentration, confidence and academic performance.
At The Hawn Foundation, we share the dreams of all teachers and parents to help children achieve excellence, both in and outside of school. By teaching kids about mindfulness, you can help them understand themselves in a new way—one that brings them joy in life and learning.
